English Language Requirements:

UEA may also establish country-specific English language prerequisites to accommodate the diverse linguistic backgrounds of international applicants. Undergraduate Courses:

• 1) IELTS: 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each component
• 2) Pearson PTE: 64 overall with a minimum of 59 in each component
• 3) TOEFL (IBT): Overall 79 with R: 18, W: 17, L: 17, S: 20
• 4) Cambridge English: 169 overall with a minimum of 162 in each component
• 5) LanguageCert: Communicator (B2) at Pass or Higher with minimum or 33 in each component

Postgraduate Courses:

• 1) IELTS: 6.0 overall with minimum of 6.0 in Writing and Speaking and 5.5 in Reading and Listening
• 2) Pearson PTE: 64 overall with minimum of  64 in Writing and Speaking and 59 in Reading and Listening
• 3) TOEFL (IBT): Overall 79 with R: 18, W: 19, L: 17, S: 21
• 4) Cambridge English: 169 overall with a minimum of 169 in Writing and Speaking and 162 in Reading and Listening - (January 2015 onwards)
• 5) LanguageCert: Communicator (B2) at Pass or Higher, with a minimum of 33 in all components

Most of the time international students get the opportunity to stay in the campus and the university provides the guaranteed accommodation to the international students if they have not studied before in the university. University will provide undergraduates the opportunity to stay in the university accommodation for the 1st year and then students can apply for the consecutive years that they want to stay in the university. Postgraduates can also stay in university accommodation for the first year of their course (the typical length of most Masters courses).
