Around half of students are on courses that lead to professional accreditation, and many more study on courses that offer real-life learning. Simulated learning environments include a mock courtroom, a newsroom, a health simulation suite, a £1m model pharmacy and a forensic house, where criminologists work on staged crime scenes.

  • 2) TOEFL: 91 overall, with a minimum of: 20 in Reading, 19 in Listening, 21 in Speaking, 20 in Writing
  • 3) PTE: 61 points overall, with a minimum of 54 in each component
  • 4) LanguageCert: B2 Communicator High Pass in the LanguageCert (SELT) (minimum Pass in all skills)

Accommodation for International Students

  • All international (non-EU) students are guaranteed a room in halls of residence for their first year provided they have submitted an accommodation application by the specified deadline (please refer to the university website). Students must hold an unconditional offer and have their Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS).

  • The university offers both catered and self-catered halls, 90% of which have en-suite facilities and all with free Wi-Fi access.

  • Most student accommodation is centrally located and within easy walking distance of the campus, but students who choose to live beside the sea at Langstone Student Village benefit from a free regular bus service to and from the main campus.

  • There is a good supply of private-sector accommodation available if students prefer to live out in the city. The university runs a series of housing events, offers online resources and a student matching service to help students meet like-minded housemates to share with.

  • The university also provides ongoing housing advice and support to all students to make sure that they are settled in Portsmouth throughout their course.

Scholarships

The University of Portsmouth is delighted to announce that they have five scholarships available, worth £5,000 each, to students from India. GREAT scholarships are offered in partnership with the British Council and are open to Indian students applying for an undergraduate or postgraduate degree .

The scholarships are a one-off award towards one year of the course tuition fee and are non-renewable. They cannot be taken in conjunction with any other fee reduction or bursary offered by the University.
